Movement, dynamics, and physical expression are essential elements to incorporate into a child’s daily routine — and ideally from an early age.

Dmitry Severin is a curator and performer at Jolda Dance Theatre (known for the performances Surfactant and Leila). In this workshop, we will explore performance — movement-based practices, contemporary dance, acrobatics, and acting techniques.

Performance is a form of art in which the person acts. We will explore the concept of “action” both within the framework of theatre and performance itself.

Together, we will learn movements, a sequence, and create a short etude.

Jolda Dance Theatre was founded in 2020 in Almaty. 

The company focuses on creating performances and studying and promoting physical theatre and contemporary dance in Kazakhstan.
