The lab focuses on the issue of migration between urban and rural areas. Participants take part in a field interview workshop, collect data in the city of Almaty, and travel to Makinsk and Voznesenka for several days to gather ethnographic material. This is followed by a series of Zoom sessions, culminating in a public presentation of the research findings and policy recommendations.

The lab is led by researchers Dmitry Rogozin and Ksenia Maniulskaya, and curated by Anel Moldakhmetova and Alexander Vileykis. 

In October, participants traveled to Astana to conduct fieldwork, and on October 17, they presented their findings during a public discussion held at Almaty Management University.
