Mediation is a unique approach to exploring an artist's work through practical activities and dialogue. We believe that this is a very useful practice for children, which goes beyond the usual guided tours. Through play, movement, light, and working with different materials, it develops creative thinking, spatial imagination, and the ability to see deep connections between art and the surrounding world. Your children will learn not just to look, but to explore and create, revealing their own creative potential.

We invite children aged 6 to 10 to a series of classes called “From Sky to Earth,” which will take place in November. Exploring the artifacts and drawings of Asif Khan, participants will create their own lands and clouds, in which buildings of the future will appear.

The program includes 5 classes:

  1. Earth (Saturday, November 1, 3:00 p.m.) We will explore the idea of the earth as a foundation—preserving traces of the past, roots, stones, and stories. We will learn how to work with clay.
  2. Sky (Saturday, November 8, 3:00 p.m.) We will create a “map of the sky” filled with clouds and constellations. We will play with light and shadow using an overhead projector to see the sky in motion.
  3. Horizon (Saturday, November 15, 3:00 p.m.) We will explore the invisible line between the sky and the earth and draw those who preserve their connection. We will experiment with lines — visible and invisible, curved, double, unique.
  4. Architecture (Saturday, November 22, 3:00 p.m.) We build our own buildings and connect them with roads so we can visit each other. We learn the principles of three-dimensional design.
  5. People (Saturday, November 29, 3:00 p.m.) We will draw characters and invent their environment through movement, play, and small theatrical improvisations.

Host: Lena Anderson — artist, art therapist, Reggio Emilia educator, architect.
