Artist Talk: Törteu

On Saturday, 8 November, at 3:30 p.m., the ORTA 1 space hosts an artist talk with the Törteu group – an association of four young Kazakh designers: Assem Sapargali, Rassul Sotsial Almas Kerimbekov and Abzal Seidin.
During the event, the participants are going to talk about the concept of the costumes created for the BARSAKELMES performance, as well as about the work process. The discussion is in a mixed format in Kazakh and Russian languages.
The Törteu group is known for their interdisciplinary approach, experiments with fashion performance and the creation of unusual images addressing the issues of identity and freedom of expression.
The designers draw inspiration from mythology and cultural heritage, while each member of the group maintains his or her own unique artistic style. Guests can hear about the designers' designers' creative journeys, the sources of their inspiration, and the meanings behind their costumes, and have an opportunity to ask questions in person.
The Artist Talk is moderated by Ainura Abugalieva, the founder of the Flashka project, bringing together artists in the field of fashion and design. The project produces filming and arranges cultural initiatives and collaborations.
