Electroacoustics and Sound Experiments

Electroacoustics is a field where the phenomena of the material world and sound meet to create something unusual: from one-of-a-kind musical instruments to sound installations and performances. In this course, we will try different ways of working with sound, experiment with microphones and DIY devices, and then transform these experiments into real artistic objects. Along the way, we will learn soldering and explore various algorithms of digital sound processing.
Each participant will assemble their own unique sound instrument or object, and in the final session we will decide together how it can be presented to the public — as a sound performance, an interactive installation, or a combination of both. Everything will be explained and demonstrated from scratch, so no prior experience with sound or electronics is required — only curiosity and the willingness to create something with your own hands.
Course outcome: a sound instrument, object, or group sound performance.
