We invite children aged 8–14 to join the improvisation session Round World.

This is a playful session where children will be introduced to the basics of improvisation through movement and working with an object. Together, we will explore the body, attention, and imagination using a simple prop: a tennis ball.

In the first part of the session, participants will take part in playful tasks with the ball, noticing its weight, temperature, and character, and interacting with space and with one another. In the second part, the group will move into a new space where the ball itself will disappear, but the tasks will remain. Children will work with an imagined object, developing bodily awareness, imagination, and the ability to generate movement from within.

The session is designed so that children do not simply repeat movements, but learn to feel, imagine, and interact with one another. The format is light, creative, and suitable for any level of experience.

The session will be led by Gulsaya Taurkhanova, an artist of the contemporary dance theatre Samruk, independent choreographer, and director.

The session will take place on April 19 at 3:00 pm. Duration: 2 hours. Participation fee: 5000 KZT. The meeting will begin at 59 Masanchi Street, Almaty, Tselinny, Atelier educational space on the second floor of the center, and will continue on the first floor.
