12:00 – 13:00 Lecture: “In Search of Modernity: Metalanguage and the Poetics of Russian Literature in Kazakhstan” Dmitry Melnikov, MA in Philosophy (L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Vilnius University), MA in Eurasian Studies (Nazarbayev University). Senior Lecturer at the Higher School of Economics, KazGUU University. His research interests include the philosophy of religion, contemporary Russian literature, and interdisciplinary studies of time, memory, and trauma. He has presented at conferences at Princeton and Cambridge universities.
13:15 – 13:30 Poetry. Pavel Bannikov, poet, essayist, compiler, editor, and co-publisher of several collections and books by Kazakhstani writers. One of the founders of the anti-periodical Yshsho Odyn (One More…) (2009), the poetry festival Sozyv (since 2012), and the literary festival Polyphony (since 2014). From 2009, member of the nominating panel for the LiteratuRRentgen award. Twice longlisted for the Debut prize. Member of the nominating committee for the Arkady Dragomoshchenko Prize. Instructor at the Open Literary School of Almaty (poetry seminar).

14:00 – 14:15 Poetry. Ivan Poltoratsky, poet, philologist, teacher. Published in various journals in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Author of four books of poetry. Works at the Institute of Philology, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
