Inclusive Music Practice: A Session for Educators

29.04.2026
Lecture, Discussion
Tselinny

On April 29, Tselinny will host a session for educators and music education professionals focused on inclusive music practice and the methodology of Drake Music Scotland.

Rather than a traditional masterclass, this event is structured as a professional presentation followed by discussion. It will focus on approaches to inclusive music practice, principles for building inclusive environments, and ways of working that expand participation in musical processes.

During the session, participants will be introduced to case studies and video excerpts, and will have an opportunity to discuss practical and methodological questions in an open facilitated conversation. It is a chance not only to learn more about the work of Drake Music Scotland, but also to reflect on how similar approaches might be adapted within participants’ own educational contexts.

The session will last 90 minutes. The expected number of participants is up to 20.

The session will be led by Pete Sparkes. The language is English with Russian interpretation. It will take place on April 29 at 11:00 am at 59 Masanchi Street, Almaty, Tselinny, Atelier educational space on the second floor of the center. Free admission. Registration link.
