We invite children aged 9–14 to join an inclusive poetry workshop.

The workshop is open to everyone and adapted for children with autism spectrum disorders. The series consists of four self-contained sessions, so participants can join any individual session or take part in the full programme.

During the first two sessions, participants will play with words, sound, and rhythm. Together, we will explore whether a poem can sound like the clatter of hooves, whether poetry always needs to have a conventional meaning, and where a text can come from. We will turn to techniques used by well-known poets, try them in practice, and perhaps invent our own ways of writing poetry.

During the third and fourth sessions, the written texts will become the basis for stop-motion animation. Participants will learn the basic principles of frame-by-frame filming, create a visual form for their texts, and produce a short animated work.

The sessions will be led by artist Violetta Bogdanova and psychologist Angelina Marchukova.

August 1, Saturday, 11:00 am–1:00 pm
Poetry. First session
We explore words, sounds, and rhythm, and try writing poetry through play, associations, and simple creative exercises.

August 2, Sunday, 11:00 am–1:00 pm
Poetry. Second session
We continue experimenting with poetic language, explore different writing techniques, and create our own texts.

August 5, Wednesday, 2:00–4:00 pm
Animation. First session
We are introduced to stop-motion and explore how a written text can be translated into movement, image, and a sequence of frames.

August 6, Thursday, 2:00–4:00 pm
Animation. Second session
We film and assemble short animated works based on the texts created during the workshop.

All sessions will take place at 59 Masanchi Street, Tselinny, Atelier educational space on the second floor of the center. Admission is free with registration. The sessions will be held in Russian. Registration is available via the link.
