Mediation for children

How can you explain art, archives, or architectural concepts to a child? You don't need to explain. You should ask questions.

Mediation is a way to talk to children about complex topics in a simple and interesting way. It is a dialogue in which the child has a voice. It is a space where you can observe, guess, ask questions, and no answer is wrong.

In September, we will hold four mediation sessions for children aged 6 to 10 at Tselinny. Together, we will:

— learn about the history of the Tselinny building

— explore the ongoing exhibition and understand how contemporary art can draw on national traditions

— talk about memory and history through a digital archive exhibition

— reflect with the children on how architecture influences our lives.

We invite children to be curious, bold, and attentive. And perhaps — for the first time — to feel that art speaks to them in the same language.

Class schedule:

September 6 (3:00–5:00 p.m.) — Tselinny class: we will explore the Tselinny building — listen, move around, and examine its details.

September 13 (3:00–5:00 p.m.)

- “Barsakelmes” class: we will open the way to myth-making through the works of Gulnur Mukazhanova and Daria Temirkhan.

September 20 (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) - “Documentation” class: we will compose stories and discover images of artists while viewing the digital archive exhibition.

September 27 (3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) - “Architecture” class: together, we will explore the architectural exhibition “From Sky to Earth” to formulate our questions and find answers to them.

Single session price - 5,000 tenge. You can also purchase a full package (4 sessions) for 16,000 tenge.
