Last summer, we strolled down Kabanbai Batyr Street—the famous "Brod," one of the main gathering spots for Almaty's urban intelligentsia. It was a crossroads for directors, artists, writers, and everyone who shaped the city's cultural life in the second half of the 20th century.
This summer, we are continuing our walks and inviting you to the first city mediation of the season.
On June 26, we will start our route at the Solid Coffee cafe in the "Almaty" Hotel. Together, we will explore the history and architecture of the area, talk about its past and present, and then wrap up our walk at the Tselinny Center for Contemporary Culture.

What is a mediation?
Mediation is a format for engaging with art and the urban environment based on dialogue and shared exploration. Together, we will observe, ask questions, share impressions, and reflect on how the city is built and what stories it holds.
