Musical and Poetic Performance by the Art Duo ZitAbl

We invite you to a musical and poetic performance by the art duo ZitAbl, presented on the occasion of the release of Zitta Sultanbayeva’s book Scrolls of Life. EMBRYO.
The evening brings together poetry, voice, percussion, electronic sound, and improvisation. The programme features Zitta Sultanbayeva with poetic vocals, Venera Urazbekova with voice and handpan, Ablikim Akmullaev with frame drum, daf, and gong, and Damir Alibakiyev with electronic percussion and sound effects.
Zitta dedicates this performance to the memory of her brother, the poet and screenwriter Nuilop Nupis / Nurlan Sultanbayev.
Scrolls of Life. EMBRYO brings together Zitta’s poems, songs, short prose, and graphic works created from the late 1980s to the present day. It is an authorial collection in which poetry, text, and image come together as a single artistic world. Signed copies of the book will be available during the event.
Zitta Sultanbayeva is an artist, journalist, poet, and public figure. Together with Ablikim Akmullaev, she performs as part of the art duo ZitAbl. Ablikim Akmullaev is an independent artist and musician, a member of the percussion group BugaraBu and leader of the band Green Triangle. Venera Urazbekova is a singer and graduate of the Almaty Conservatory whose work brings together ethnic motifs, improvisation, and classical repertoire. Damir Alibakiyev is the creator of the project Hapanasasa, which works at the intersection of ethnic and electronic music.
The event will take place on May 22 at 5:30 pm at 59 Masanchi Street, Tselinny, Atelier educational space on the second floor of the center. Free admission, no registration required.
