Not Just a BOX: Creating a Three-Dimensional Collage

01.03.2026
Workshop
Tselinny

On March 1 at 3:30 p.m., Tselinny will host a class for families with children aged 9 and older and for couples, timed to coincide with the current exhibition “Union of Artists.”

We will make a three-dimensional collage inside a box and assemble an image of a couple or family using real materials, textures, and volume. Memories, tensions, expectations, and dreams may emerge within this small space. By working with our hands and building connections between elements, we can see the dynamics of the union from the outside: its strengths, vulnerabilities, and hidden meanings.

At the beginning of the meeting, mediator Kristina Kim will tell participants about several artists in the exhibition whose work is thematically related to the workshop. Then, together with artist Anna Parkina, participants will create their own box in the spirit of Joseph Cornell's work.

All materials will be provided by the center.

The class instructor, Anna Parkina, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris and interned at the ArtCenter College of Design.

Venue: Almaty, Masanchi 59, 2nd floor, Atelier educational space.

Cost:

15,000 tenge — for a couple or a family of up to 3 people (the class is suitable for children aged 9 and above).
