On August 27 at 5:00 p.m., there will be a meeting of the “Open Archive”—a public initiative of the Tselinny “Documentation” digital archive.

We invite you to a meeting with artists Elena and Viktor Vorobyov from Kazakhstan. Together, we’ll discuss their artistic practice in the 1990s and how archival materials help preserve and reinterpret the history of contemporary art. At the event, the artists will talk about their early projects: how the ideas for them came about and how their works evolved depending on the context of each exhibition.

“Documentation” is a digital database on contemporary art in Central Asia. As part of the “Open Archive” series, we’ll explore the archive’s work and speak with artists whose personal collections will be featured on the Tselinny website.
