The book presents a mosaic of space-related sites of memory, museum representations of outer space, artistic practices, literature, and state space policy, revealing the current relationships between Kazakhstan’s test-range/cosmodrome landscapes and its socio-cultural environments.

The book was created by an international collective of authors: Kulshat Medeuova (editor), Ulbolsyn Sandybaeva, Manifa Sarkulova, Adiya Ramazanova, Leila Bakytova, Zira Nauryzbay, Denis Sivkov, Zhomart Medeuov, Nelly Bekus, and Dinara Ryskulbekova.
