We’ve got two pieces of great news for lovers of intellectual literature and contemporary art. First, tomorrow’s Reading Club session will feature a landmark text by one of America’s most influential art theorists—Rosalind Krauss’s A Voyage on the North Sea: Art in the Age of the Post-Medium Condition. Second, the book will be presented by artist Alexander Ugay, whose works have been exhibited at Promises of the Past at the Centre Pompidou, Paris (2010); Younger Than Jesus at the New Museum, New York (2009); the Istanbul Biennale (2005); and many other venues. Alexander will talk about how to approach and understand texts like this one, read selected passages, and walk us through Krauss’s ideas in more depth. Join us for a cozy evening in our lecture hall with conversations, discussion, and immersion into the complex but fascinating world of contemporary art.
