Wind, Talk to Me

Stefan reunites with his family to celebrate his grandmother’s birthday for the first time after his mother’s recent passing. This homecoming, driven by his urge to complete a film about his mother and an attempt to make amends by rescuing a stray dog, will ignite an introspective journey for Stefan.
Stefan Djordjevic’s slow-paced autofiction resembles the pastoral sketches of the Impressionists or novels about vacations at family estates. Time passes slowly; most of the narrative is filled with musings and conversations, and the most dramatic event is the rescue of an injured dog. The wind adds a touch of magical realism to the picture—according to Stefan’s mother, it comes when you ask for it very strongly. After her death, the wind became the only way to reconnect with a loved one.
