On May 31, the second meeting of “Open Archive”—a public platform for the “Documentation” digital archive of the Tselinny—will take place.

On Sunday, we’ll talk with contemporary Kazakhstani artist Gania Chagataeva about the performances and video art she created in the 2000s. We discovered some of this material while digitizing the archive of the SCCI (Soros Foundation-Almaty’s Center for Contemporary Art), through conversations with Gania, and while curating her personal collection in “Documentation.”

Gania will show archival photographs and share the stories behind the creation of her works.
